Goh Hong Hoo graduated in National University of Singapore with a Honours degree in Chemical Engineering. He joined Exxon Chemicals and worked 15 years with the company, gaining great exposure in various job functions as Process Engineer, Unit Supervisor, Marketing Technical Services (MTS), Operation Manager. He was also assigned as Technical Manager of the Exxon Joint Venture Lubricant company (HiLube) in Shanghai. He was based in Oxford, UK for 3 years during his MTS assignment.
Hong Hoo joined Nanyang Polytechnic as senior lecturer in 2002. He specialised in lecturing in areas including Specialty Chemicals, Industrial Safety, Chemical Engineering Principals and Reactor Systems. Hong Hoo is also a keen street magic performer who combine magic and teaching to inspire students and teachers.
Why does Mind Mapping inspire you?
Mind Mapping excites Hong Hoo because of its simple and yet powerful concept of organizing thoughts visually. To him, Mind Mapping is an excellent presentation and summary tool for delivery for his lessons. He was greatly inspired by the whole brain thinking potentials of the Mind mapping concept and now offer lessons to his students in class to spread the usage.
How will you use your TLI accreditation?
Hong Hoo fulfilled his ambition of becoming an 1st batch of accredited TLI in Asia. He is keen to share his personal experiences in Mind Mapping and others Buzan teachings like memory skills, TEFCAS, with students and teachers. Seminar / workshop conducted so far includes:
