Name: Henry Loo
Location: Singapore & Australia
Level: ThinkBuzan Licensed Instructor
I am about 15 years now in consulting and currently am a practice principal in Hewlett Packard’s technology consulting practice for Asia-Pacific. I specialise in strategy consulting for cloud computing, data centre transformation and IT service management.
In this capacity I advise clients, craft strategies, design and architect solutions for clients to achieve their strategy or transformation objectives.
Mind Mapping inspires me because as a strategy consultant it is particularly relevant and valuable to me. My work requires rigorous thinking skills for analysing problems, creatively generating solutions and communicating effectively with colleagues and customers.
As a tool, Mind Mapping is absolutely my “Swiss Army Knife” that helps me produce good quality work output.
Besides using Mind Mapping for problem analysis and solution generation, I also get to conduct internal and external training, workshops and assessments. I have started to use Mind Mapping extensively and in the process started to teach it to both colleagues and customers. The TLI accreditation gives my trainees the confidence that I possess the competency to teach Mind Mapping and thinking skills.
I also have responsibilities in knowledge management and I am incorporating Mind Mapping-related ideas and techniques for capturing and documenting intellectual capital.
Another significant use of Mind Mapping will be in developing models and templates for strategy consulting for producing articles for internal, marketing and professional publication.
