Miki is the founder and CEO of Human Respect Co., Ltd., a management consulting company based in Tokyo. She is a MITI-qualified Small and Medium Enterprise Management Consultant as well as a judge of Japan Quality Award, which was modeled after the self assessment theory of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.

Miki has a unique background. She started her career as a business staff member at Shiki, a leading musical theatre company in Japan. One day, she realized that she wanted to become a chanson singer and decided to leave the firm. Her dream came true and she appeared on stage for many years before winning the Grand Prix at a chanson singers' competition.

Miki says she has become a "genuine" Mind Mapper after she attended the first BLI training program in Japan in November 2006, although she had found the concept in 2001. Currently, she is actively involved in various projects for introducing Mind Maps to Japanese society.

She holds a BA in Journalism from Sophia University.
