Name: Frank Dolaghan
Location: Northern Ireland, Ireland
Level: iMindMap Licensed Instructor
Frank Dolaghan is Managing Director of Mentor Economic Developments Limited which he established in 1988. Frank's career has included spells as a Primary School teacher, Careers Advisor, Information Officer in the Northern Ireland Housing Executive and Small Business Adviser for the Northern Ireland Small Business Agency.
In 1974 he established Newry and Mourne Co-operative Limited which was the first Community-owned Managed Workspace and Local Enterprise Agency in these islands and was the General Manager there for 13 years before leaving to set up Mentor. While in the Co-operative Frank assisted hundreds of individuals to become self-employed and his pioneering work in community-based local economic development was the catalyst for transforming Newry from a district with 24% unemployment to an area with virtually full employment.
Mentor is based in Newry and now, specialising in socio-economic development, works with clients from the public, community and voluntary sectors primarily in the island of Ireland but Frank has also worked internationally in Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Malaysia and the United States. Frank is a highly experienced facilitator and it is in that capacity he first became aware of mind mapping. He has used mind mapping in idea generation, in strategic planning and in strategic reviews of organisations. Frank is particularly interested in developing iMindMap in the community and voluntary sectors and in education and plans a series of training courses all over the island of Ireland.
