I work as a freelance librarian.
Based on the importance of registration and retaining a company’s greatest resources, including Knowledge Management, Process Management and Quality Management, I work with Information and Document Management.
My task here is often to create structure and an overview of a large quantity of information. This is done by classification, cataloging, modeling and making specific groups of words and concepts. I have worked for Google Maps, where they are very advanced in developing their own tools to improve search results.
These tools - taxonomy tools - I looked for everywhere, searching the Internet, and by chance I found Think Buzan. It was sent from heaven!
It was like finding a pencil which extended the line of thought I already had in my head, but could not be translated into a simple spreadsheet. Here, I could create hierarchies to create relations and build on top of that. I use it every day in my work, both to get the customer to discuss the organization’s conceptual world and to give an overview. It seems like it is easy for everyone to use and look at an IMindMap where the track is created visually and intuitively.
Think Buzan is also incredibly useful as a project management tool. If the steering committee has been brainstorming in the concept phase, it can be converted quickly into specific timeframes and resource allocations.
