Tom is a business catalyst, an authors' mentor and creative writing coach, as well as being an author in his own right.
With 20 years experience in broadcasting and 10 years experience in the Internet industry, he comes with a wealth of technical and commercial acumen. Latterly he has been studying how the human mind works and is a trained hypnotherapist. He is now an expert on where inspiration actually comes from in the brain and teaches people how to tap into light bulb moments on demand. With both businesses and authors, he makes extensive use of Mind Maps to help his clients see the 'wood from the trees'. His enthusiasm is infectious and his incisiveness and ability to get to the heart of the matter is nothing short of uncanny.
About iMindMap he says, "At last there is a software tool that isn't restricted by the rectilinear framework imposed by most mapping programmes. One of the big issues with using computer-based mind mapping is that it can throw the left hemisphere back into dominance which tends to block the creative right half of the brain. iMindMap is the solution to this problem." As well as being a Buzan Online Master Trainer, Tom is also an adept at creating elearning courses. In course design, he brings together all his talents as an author, technical architect and graphic designer.
His extensive knowledge of Internet marketing too is naturally an asset when it comes to getting course materials out to the widest possible audience. Tom runs regular iMindMap and creative writing courses in Surrey. He is available to mentor clients using voice over IP and desktop sharing anywhere in the world. He is also available to run in house or bespoke training courses on iMindMap and any aspect of creativity and innovation anywhere in the world.
Tom has written three books which all use Mind Maps as one of the key tools in generating unlimited creativity. The first, Blocks, deals with what stops creativity. The second, Flavours of Thoughts: Recipes for Fresh Thinking get us to really think about our thoughts, where they come from and how we should best utilise them.
The third, The Art and Science of Light Bulb Moments, explains the physicality and psychology of how to have Aha Moments on demand. It uses iMindmaps throughout to show how to generate the initial idea, how to stop ideas getting away and how to create spin offs to jump over 'the Chasm'.
